Enjoy the crunchy leaves and crisp air with your family while volunteering on trail. This fall, WTA is offering two special trail work parties specifically for youth and families.
- Sign up for Saturday, Oct. 20, when we will be working on a new trail on Mailbox Peak in North Bend (in partnership with Mountains to Sound Greenway and the Washington Department of Natural Resources).
- If you can?t make the October work party, join us Saturday, Nov. 10 at Cougar Mountain, near Issaquah.
Parents: explore nearby trails as a family
Family work parties are a great way to get your child active and engaged in the outdoors. We saw a rough-skinned newt and a Pacific Northwest giant salamander at Taylor Mountain on National Public Lands Day. There?s no telling what cool wildlife you and your children will see on trail as the seasons change.
Teens: earn community service hours with your friends

exercise and spending time with friends. That?s right, we want you to bring your friends! You can earn up to 8 hours of community service in one day.
If you can?t make one of our youth-specific opportunities, sign up for a work party on our regular schedule. We hold these work parties six out of seven days all year long. Some incredible young people have helped build and maintain trails on 133 regular work parties so far this year, so you won't be alone.
Take a break from homework: hike!
If you?re too busy with fall sports and homework, try going on one of our suggested fall hikes in your own free time.
